Greenberg Traurig, an international law firm, leased 128,450 square feet in what is the largest office deal in Miami's central business district in recent years.
The lease is for five floors at 333 SE 2nd Ave in Miami, a LEED Gold & Energy Star Certified, 47-story office building.
MetLife owns the building and is among the largest global providers of insurance, annuities, and employee benefit programs, with over 90 million customers in over 60 countries. MetLife is headquartered in New York City.
Greenberg Traurig is a multinational law and lobbying firm founded in Miami in 1967. As of 2022, it was in the top ten largest law firms in the United States.
The flurry of quality office leasing activity in South Florida is exemplified by the last nine months at the Wells Fargo Center. Over the previous three quarters, the office tower has seen over 250,000 square feet of leasing transactions that bring the building’s occupancy to 93%. Kaseya also secured over 100,000 square feet at the Wells Fargo Center in January.
For the Record
Greenberg Traurig, which has over 150 lawyers in its Miami office, was represented by Michael Shuler, Jeremy Hakala, and Clay Sidner of Newmark. Brian Gale, Ryan Holtzman, Lena Weeks, Jeannette Mendoza, Andrew Trench and Edward Quinon of Cushman & Wakefield represented the landlord, an affiliate of MetLife.
